Hypnosis for Fears and Phobias

Very often fears and phobias are regarded as a character treat or peculiarity brushed off with laughter and jokes. In reality they are irrational behaviours that have been contracted subconsciously, either because of an intense emotional event or just by introjection from another person’s behaviour. When phobias become an obstacle to a necessary medical procedure or essential life requirement then the only way is to seek treatment.

Hypnotherapy has been one of the most successful treatments for fears and phobias. The complex therapy process will utilise strategies adopted from the Neuro-Linguistic Programing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Age Regression and Timeline techniques. The subconscious mind is employed ‘to do the work’ alongside the introduction of behavioural techniques. The treatment is uniquely designed, taking into consideration your individuality and specific experiences. Hypnotherapy can help summon your own resources, re-define memories and resolve difficult emotions resulting in freedom of phobia and fear.

Clients describe the process as pleasurable, interesting and even exciting. Supported by the success rate in treating phobias and anxiety (link) in particular, indicated by studies on hypnosis, this amazing style of therapy has gained popularity and credibility. The abilities of our beautiful subconscious mind have been utilized and employed to help the client take the ‘short cut’ to recovery by re-framing one’s understanding and eliciting the desired outcome.

Counselling and Hypnotherapy for Anxiety

Anxiety is like an ‘obnoxious roommate’ that lives in your head; a voice at the back of your mind, leading down the path of fear, insecurity, panic, self-depreciation and confusion. You are unaware of why this is happening with you, feeling completely out of control of your responses and your life.

Anxiety, Stress and Depression can make the world spin downwards faster than anything else can. Counselling and in particular, the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Hypnotherapy have proven to help the client resolve the fears, worries, self-defeating beliefs, cognitive distortions and hidden emotions that have been sustaining the state of Anxiety.

Counselling therapy can help through utilising the collection of different concepts, ideas, strategies, methods and techniques, with each one been able to help elicit a different state of mind and understanding. Finding the right collection for each individual client is the magical dance of the therapeutic process.

Hypnosis is the kingdom of our imagination and untapped resourcefulness. Through using the internal mental capacity and the abilities of the subconscious mind, hypnotherapy is the tool of choice when it comes to resolving anxiety.

Psychotherapy for Depression

Depression affects how you think, feel, interact and handle everyday life. It is the way the individual perceives and engages with the world and others. There are multiple factors that would have contributed to the development of the condition. Depression is a mental state that has a complex nature and requires, in most cases, long term therapy.

There is the argument of genetic predispositions that may affect the way we perceive and engage with life and the world and contribute to the development of the condition. However, studies show that in many cases Depression can be treated through psychotherapy with the rapport and trust between the client and the therapist been of great importance for the successful outcome of the process.

In treatment, we can

Find adequate strategies and coping mechanisms to manage present situations
Identify negative or false beliefs, cognitive distortions and self-defeating behaviours; challenge and replace them with healthier, more positive alternatives.
Explore and gain better understanding of your past and present relationships.
Identify thought patterns that support the state of Depression and break the cycle by introducing more adequate and realistic alternatives.
Gain acceptance of what you cannot change and then change your attitude towards it.
Find more effective ways of problem-solving and decision-making.
Challenge and change the Self-Image that has maintained the state of Depression.

One of the most important areas of the therapy process is to challenge the misconception that Depression is unbeatable. Although there may be certain genetic predispositions they are not enough to maintain the state of Depression if the individual is determined to find a way for improvement and solution. Psychotherapy provides all the necessary conditions for that change to happen.

Counselling and Hypnotherapy for Addiction and Dependencies

The cause of addiction can be buried deeply into the subconscious mind and it could be related to difficulty acknowledging feelings, inability to manage complex relationships and finding your place in relation to others. Addiction or dependency is emotionally triggered and it is a life-coping strategy, unfortunately on a high personal prise that could cost the individual their health, financial stability or relationships. The counselling process will help uncover the reasons why the addiction was generated but most importantly, therapy is about making that journey towards oneself and discovering better life and self-management strategies.

Therapy will evolve in three stages

Uncovering the psychological triggers and emotional discomfort that generated the behaviour and the supporting habits.
Finding and employing more adequate coping strategies.
Creating and empowering the new understanding and behaviours that bring solution and better outcome for the individual.

Addictions may have different modus operandi but the core of the conditions will be always unresolved psychological issues that led to the lack of adequate and effective life and self-management skills.
